Cycling the Beara Peninsula, Ireland
(conclusion)

The final segment of the day’s ride was the section of the Ring of Kerry that I had not ridden the day before—it connected Kenmare with Killarney. It, too, involved another long (five and a half mile) climb to the summit (Moll’s Gap, 263m).

I ran out of energy as I reached the pass, so I stopped and had a hearty lunch at the summit restaurant. There were, predictably, the busloads of tourist (I was now in the Ring of Kerry, after all) crowding the summit.

From Moll’s Gap to Muckross saw me going past some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve come across on this trip, though again, the experience was marred by the amount of motor traffic constantly whizzing past me. I reached Killarney shortly thereafter.

Actually, this is Muckross House, stately and regal)
